SUMMARY:The IQ Brew: Alex Plotkin, Small Business Development Center
DESCRIPTION:\nVIRTUAL EVENT\n\n\n\nThe IQ Brew is a networking and educational series featuring short presentations from entrepreneurs, small businesses and subject-matter experts. The goal of The IQ® Brew is to share lessons learned and to have the Richardson business community hear about the successes and challenges faced while starting and growing a business. Come join us for coffee and conversation every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month!\n\n\n\nOn Thursday, January 27, The IQ® Brew will feature Alex Plotkin, Senior Business Advisor for the Collin Small Business Development Center who will host a session on valuations. Alex provides counseling and training to existing and prospective entrepreneurs in developing business plans, marketing, record keeping and accounting, financing, management, technology transfer, government contracting, social media, marketing/sales and other areas of small business ownership.\n\n\n\nA veteran of small business creation, Alex Plotkin joined the SBDC in 2013, after more than a decade of building his own small businesses. A graduate of the Honors Business Program at The University of Texas with a Master of Business Administration from University of California – Los Angeles, Alex served as chief financial officer for Streetball Partners International, organizers of the Hoop-It-Up 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, until that business was sold. Alex has built businesses in areas as diverse as daycare, health clubs/athletic training, automotive aftermarket and restaurants. He draws on that experience when advising clients and considers his role at the SBDC as one of a problem solver, using both personal insight and professional experience to help his clients’ businesses thrive. With his assistance, clients have created more than 2,000 jobs and have accessed more than $74,000,000 in capital. In addition to his work with small businesses, Alex volunteers at the North Texas Food Bank and was a founding member of the DME Exchange of Dallas, which collects and refurbishes wheelchairs, crutches and other durable medical equipment (DME) for those in need.\n\n\n\nJoin us virtually for coffee and discussion!\n\n\n\nAlex Plotkin LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/alex-plotkin-48b57ba/\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\n8:30am – Virtual Networking\n\n\n\n9:00am – Opening Remarks\n\n\n\n9:05am – Introductions\n\n\n\n9:15am – IQ Speaker\n\n\n\n9:40am – Q&A\n\n\n\nBelow is the Zoom link for the session:\n\n\n\nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/j/85004231115?pwd=ZE4vbEVncmh2c2lhNXhPVENRYmRPQT09 ( https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85004231115?pwd=ZE4vbEVncmh2c2lhNXhPVENRYmRPQT09 )\n\n\n\nMeeting ID: 850 0423 1115\n\n\n\nPasscode: 060233\n
