The IQ Brew is a networking and educational series featuring short presentations from entrepreneurs, small businesses and subject-matter experts. The goal of The IQ Brew is to share lessons learned and to have the Richardson business community hear about the successes and challenges faced while starting and growing a business.
On Thursday, January 21 at 9:00am, hear from Rachel West with RevTech Ventures as she talks about the industry’s first female-led, female-focused seed fund for new retail concepts and retail technology companies. This is a partnership with Equity At Work, and will enable the next wave of female innovators transforming the retail industry. Rachel, the youngest female fund manager in Texas, is head of the Seed Stage Investment Team at RevTech Ventures and heads RevTech Equity for Women.

About Rachel
Rachel is a Principal and leads the early-stage investment team at RevTech Ventures, a venture capital firm that invests in entrepreneurs creating the future of retail – both emerging brands and retail technologies. She spends her free time helping women overcome both professional and personal barriers as the Dallas President of the SoGal Foundation, the largest global platform for the education and empowerment of 100,000+ diverse entrepreneurs and investors. This fueled her desire to launch the RevTech Equity for Women Fund with her team, the first female-focused seed fund for retail technologies and concepts.
Prior to RevTech, Rachel worked with executives on digital transformations, product development, and marketing technology at an award-winning global boutique consultancy. She also spearheaded several F500 retail + startup partnerships and launched the team to create and drive the firm’s national market expansion strategy.
Rachel uncovered her passion for startups through starting and scaling a nutrition program for kids in underserved areas across Texas and driving national expansion for a VC-backed recruiting startup. After witnessing the public good generated through the application of capitalistic principles and concepts, she sought to round out her understanding through analyzing the drivers of public policy formation and impact for one of America’s most influential think tanks.
