The IQ Brew: Matt Winser-Johns, Galerstein Gender Center (GGC)

IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL EVENT

The IQ Brew is a networking and educational series featuring short presentations from entrepreneurs, small businesses and subject-matter experts. The goal of The IQ® Brew is to share lessons learned and to have the Richardson business community hear about the successes and challenges faced while starting and growing a business. Come join us for coffee and conversation every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month!

On Thursday, June 9, The IQ® Brew will feature Matt Winser-Johns, Director for the Galerstein Gender Center at The University of Texas at Dallas. Matt has worked in Higher Education for over 16+ years and loves working with students, staff and faculty. UT Dallas is currently ranked #1 in Texas and #19 in the nation for LGBTQ-inclusivity, based on the latest Campus Pride Index ranking which is a national benchmarking tool for colleges and universities to create safter, more inclusive campus communities.

While your company may be making advancements to recruit a diverse workforce that includes a range of ages, ethnicities, religions and worldviews, creating a culture where people are respected and appreciated requires another level of effort. When employees who are different from their colleagues are allowed to flourish, the company benefits from their ideas, skills and engagement. The retention rate of those workers also rises.

Come learn from Matt about creating affirming and inclusive spaces at work and available resources for you and your company.
