Registration: https://www.meetup.com/RichardsonIQ/events/280919636/

IN-PERSON & VIRTUAL EVENT

The IQ Brew is a networking and educational series featuring short presentations from entrepreneurs, small businesses and subject-matter experts. The goal of The IQ® Brew is to share lessons learned and to have the Richardson business community hear about the successes and challenges faced while starting and growing a business. Come join us for coffee and conversation every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month!

On Thursday, November 11, The IQ® Brew will continue the 5 series feature of the UT Dallas research teams that will have a footprint in the new IQ® Headquarters. These new centers, which are part of the UT Dallas Center for Emergent Novel Technology, were awarded seed grant funding from the UT Dallas Office of Innovation & Research and will anchor a public presence in the Richardson Innovation Quarter.

Our third IQ® Brew UT Dallas Series will feature Dr. Doug DeGroot, Dr. Gopal Gupta, and Dr. Lakshman Tamil with the Center for Applied AI and Machine Learning. The Center’s focus is on solving problems for industry using artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Emphasis is on bridging developments in AI and Machine Learning to real applications and services in collaboration with our industry partners. The Center jointly researches and develops tools, products, and services for the Center’s partners and develop new on-demand technologies for machine learning and large-scale data analysis. The center is also focused on explainable AI technologies that pertain to making machine learning models understandable to humans and decision makers. CAIML can be thought of as AI/ML R&D Lab of our partners. Through a special UT Dallas IP assignment program, sponsoring partner exclusively own the rights to the IP developed.

Since its founding in January 2020, CAIML has partnered with four companies to help them solve their research in areas of bid and sell price prediction for electricity pricing, automation of warehouse operations, and explainable AI. CAIML has also conducted a number of courses in AI and Machine Learning for its industrial partners.
